And The Links Come Marching In

So, you have your own domain, website or blog, like I'm Online Income Resource, and you need visitors. The pulse of your website, after all, is in the visitors you attract on a daily basis. Yet, gaining visitors is generally a slow process that happens by being consistent in your methods.

Do you know the song, "And The Links Come Marching In"? You probably do as one very important method of gaining visibility and traffic is by providing your link to as many people as possible. Remember, it's not just the quantity of links you have out there on the world wide web, it's the quality of links that matter as well.

Take, for example, social networking sites. Social networking sites can provide you with a host of links back to your website, giving your web page a very diverse and wide range of views worldwide. Many people, however, spam social networking sites repeatedly and this can create a poor perception of your business as well as label you as a spammer.

If you have a Twitter account and are following even a nominal amount of people you know exactly what I am referring to. Over time those that spam their links over and over are simply ignored or worse.

Remember, it's the quality of your links and not just the quantity. You want to be sincere and informative when providing links to your sites, blogs and whatever else you wish to gain exposure.

One example of a quality link can be found with Rebja. Rebja is a business networking site that not only places you in contact with other business owners, but provides a link to your website in a relevant manner. To view me on Rebja and to create your own account visit http://rebja.com/VincentParker.

Having links to your web pages is important on many levels. From gaining exposure to becoming friends with search engines. However, we must always bear in mind that it is not just the quantity of links you have, but the quality.
